MS diagram?

Don,

The reason you need a 16v pulley is because they are different then the 8v
pulley which I am sure your aware of. Trust me the 034efi stuff will not
fit on a 8v crank pulley, I tried to make it work when waiting for my 16v
crank pulley to should up.

The 034efi trigger wheel set up sits on the outter side of the crank pulley
seen in this picture here.

Also from there picture it is hard to see where the sensor actually sits.
The sensor does actually sit between teeth 10-14. But as Dan said MS let
you select any tooth and degree offset.

Here is how mine is mounted.
http://scirocco.dyn.dhs.org/vw/list/Don_Walter/TEC%202/DSC02431.JPG I had
to cut 1/2" off the the two standoffs of the power steering bracket as it
was made for a car without power steering. The crank pulley is drilled and
tapped into the back of the stock pulley and does not impede access to the
12 pt crank nut.

Also I noticed that the 034 Motorsports places the sensor toward the bottom
of the crank wheel. I thought it was supposed to be around the 11(?) tooth
before TDC like mine is or is that just for the TEC 2.

Why do you need 16V pulleys? Why won't the 8V pulleys work?

Marc,

Yeah they just came out with it back in May! I was the first on their order
list. I have pictures of it installed on my car at home that I can email if
you would like to see them.

However you may run into a few problems trying to run it on your 8v so I
will give you a little heads up.

1. If you don't have power steering, you will need a power steering bracket.
I can mod you up one if you don't have one for a few dollars. (I had to do
this for my car). It uses the PS bracket for mounting.

2. You will need the 16v pulleys and lower timing gear like I said before.
Or if you don't want to spend $125 on the gear and you have the pulley I can
make you a spacer for less than 1/2 the price of the gear.

3. One last problem you will run into is with the trigger wheel on the
crank pulley you won't be able to get at the 19mm nut to turn the motor
over. You could use the cam nut but that isn't recommended. I am in the
process of making a tool for there trigger wheel assembly.

Thanks
-Brian
