Fuel pumps

Last time I heard someone have this problem, the intake was loose on the
head, grab the intake and see if you can rock it or shake it some.
You may need to tighten the bolts down.

Otherwise it could be the idle boost "switch" that is failing.

Subject: Fuel pumps

On Friday, my car was very hard to start after work. After I got it
running a little, it had a almost continuous sputter. I borrowed
another car and let it sit until today. I did find one vacuum hose
that had a hole in it, but even after fixing that, it ran poorly. I
fulled the tank ($45!) before driving home. I think the fuel pressure
is the issue. During the 10 mile drive home, the car would sometimes
have a sudden drop in power. I could not get the car to idle at 750
like usual. I had to put some "pre-load" on the throttle cable so the
car could idle. The lowest the car do handle was 1500, so I used the
clip to have it at 1750. On road intersection turns, the engine would
die. I'm going to look things over as closely as I can in few
minutes. Anyone have any ideas?
