Auto to Manual Conversion

Hey all,

Just joined the group and wanted to say Hi.

I just bought a 1984 auto Scirocco with 65,000 miles with a great
interior and good exterior.  The dash has no cracks!

I'm planning to convert it to an electric drive but in doing so I might
need to convert it to a manual tranny first. Has anyone done this
conversion?  Would you go with one of those complete 02A kits for $2,000
to $2,500 like
