OK, here is the setup:
85' Cabriolet, Scirocco 16V 1.8L transplant(everything stock),
installed 16V Scirocco engine wire loom with computer and knox box,
CIS-E fuel system.
Problem:
No fuel to 4 injectors.
Checks using Bently cabriolet and scirocco service manual 1985-1993:
Fuel in from filter and return line out of fuel distributor have
pressure. Fuel is present in cold start line. Checked every wire
into main computer plug except did not have a LED to test RPM signal
from knox box(do not even know if that matters). Amperage across the
fuel pressure regulator is with in specs of Bently even replaced with
another used unit and same problem. Potentiometer check within specs
of Bently (Error in table d page 5-45 on pins, use these; sensor plate
at rest 17&14 > 4000ohms, sensor plate at rest 18&17 < 1000 ohms,
sensor plate lifted 18&17 > 4000ohms. Don't beleive me just cross
reference potentiometer checks on page 5-43).
Wild ass guesses:
Jumped fuel pump, turned on ignition and opened air box and held air
sensor plate in up position with injector pulled out and no fuel out
of injectors. Held sensor plate up and turned car over and no fuel.
Hit fuel distributor with a rubber mallet, no fix but good arger
release. Unswcrewed the fuel distributor and made sure control
plunger was moving and it was.
I have been working on this problem for 2 days and am at a loss. Any
thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
