Sounds like a bad main pump.

Did you check the pressure with a guage or just crack a banjo bolt and watch for the fountain of fun?

The injectors require an assload of pressure to open, a pump on the way out may supply just enough fuel to confuse the hell out of you but not open the injectors.

Problem:
No fuel to 4 injectors.

Checks using Bently cabriolet and scirocco service manual 1985-1993:
Fuel in from filter and return line out of fuel distributor have
pressure. Fuel is present in cold start line.  Held sensor plate up and turned car over and no fuel. 


Hit fuel distributor with a rubber mallet, no fix but good arger
release. Unswcrewed the fuel distributor and made sure control
plunger was moving and it was.

I have been working on this problem for 2 days and am at a loss. Any
thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
