1.8L head on 2.0L block
The differences are minimal, I do agree Allyn, but you have to remember that
if you were to get a 2.0L head off of a 93 Passat, that is 9 years older
than the 86 16v scirocco head. IF there were not differences, then I'd much
rather have the one with less wear and tear. Bench flow testing shows that
the 2.0L head flows better than the 1.8L head overall. What does this
mean?? Well, it means that all those 2.0L heads that everyone (except
myself) has been tossing to the side or giving away because they "heard"
that the 1.8L head is better, are actually better than the 1.8L head you
sunk all the money into. Just something to take into consideration as you
build your twin, Al.
