Emergency help needed (again): Timing question (16V)

If you mean the notch in the tranny bellhousing, I don't have one!  So, I'm lining up the flywheel mark by the center of the hole.  So far, it runs smoother than before, so I may have did it right.  I've even got the timing advanced a bunch and it runs baby smooth.  The cams aren't as powerful as I was expecting, but I'm gonna fiddle with mixture.  Oh well.
