engine mounts and ugly vibration

hello list,
i finnaly took the car to a mechanic to a complete check of the engine,
he disassembled it completely, (it looks very nice btw ),
I had to change some things no big deal, almost everything was ok,
except for the engine mounts, all three of them. It's a 16v engine.
Now everything works fine, except :

* under acceleration right after shifting in gear 1/2 a loud ugly vibration
can be heared, this never happened before. The mechanic says the engine
mounts are new, so they are stiff. ???!!! . btw, the clutch disc was
replaced with
a brand new one (Sachs type).

and can someone tell me the stock dimensions of the radiator ? The one
I have it's not an original one, and it looks much smaller (about 10-15 cm
shorter)
