8v Distributor woes...
This is the info I have found on the 3A...
108 HP @5300RPM
121 ft/lbs @3200RPM
1983cc
10.5:1 cr
92.8 stroke (some info says 92.71)
82.55 bore
This info is of course with the Audi head on it (hydraulic lifters) and
dual knock sensors. I believe Dan is right and the JH/3A combination will
leave the cr the same (10.5:1) and would only recommend running this combo
with a knock box unless you have acess to high octane gas everywhere you
go. I got some knock with this combo without the knock box under load in
certain weather conditions, albeit not all the time. I have since hooked
up a single sensor knock system (grafted into existing CIS) and shaved the
head to the Bently specified max allowable 132.6mm and have no problems
with pre-detonation. HTH
