Now I searched etka
Audi 4000 1987 Tranny Code 2P Part # 013311159E - Z=28/35 5th gear
(0.80)
Audi 4000 1987 Tranny Code ABV Part # 093311159C - Z=25/39 5th Gear (0.64)
Scirocco 2Y/AGB 5th Gear Part # 020311159D - Z=31/34 5th Gear
(0.91)
Scirocco 4k/9a/acd/aug 5th Gear Part # 020311159K - Z=42/47 5th Gear(0.89)
So unless a tranny gear froma an audi 4000 tranny 2P for some obscure reason
cannot be used, looks like this is yet another source for a 5th tall gear
As for autotech sure if ytou have 200+ to spend, scrap yard will charge
little less than 10-15$ for the gear. (of course you have to dismentle one..

The 4K 5th is .89. Available gears that will fit are .85; .80; .76; .75;
.71.
The Autotech kits are not a huge rape if you want new parts. Gears from
the dealer are around $200 and the special little screw that always needs to
be replaced is $28. There site gives some info on installation.
Why don't you call them and ask the ratios available?

thinking about doing some conversion to make the fifth gear taller,
autotech sells a kit but it seem similar to the stock gearing in a FF or Fn
box, or is thier a taller gearign that i can use, to givce me the most
econiomcal fifth and yet still keep the traffic light to traffic light ratio
of this 4K. so how hard would it be to rip it out of one and install it in
my box in my car
slower is more dangerous, the faster you go the slower things look and
the smoother traffic and my car flows. They way of "zen" driving it is fast
and reactions are smooth just ability to see the road and traffic lanes form
before it actually does
