ok, next question then...
Do I have to take the whole thing apart again and clean all the lithium
grease out? / or, can I just spray some silicone lube in there and it'll
work?

I use a silicon based lubricant called PS-2. Seems to work
well. (I've been advised you want to use something silicon
based by my dealership mechanic buddy.)
