OK,
I'm planning to take my 84 scirocco and put its JH head on the ABA block
setting in my garage (after a rebuild of course) and put the eaton
supercharger I have on for good measure. I'm planning on using a megasquirt
fuel injection system.
I plan to start the whole process in about 3 to 4 months, after I can get
enought points to win the local auto-x season.
I'm going to need a few parts so I thought I'd start posting now so I can
get everything in order.
I will need:
The pulley set off of an ABA motor. Mine has none and I will need a
serpentine belt to turn the supercharger.
A belt tensioner off of an ABA.
Possibly the alternator off of an ABA, depending on the pulley length and
it's mounting
A coraddo intercooler or something equivilent. I have one from a 240 Volvo
but it is way too big.
Any one have a used radiator type oil cooler?
A used corrado head with straight valves that I can steal.
A source for 8.5 to 1 pistons for an ABA block or a place to get a thicker
head gasket to lower the base compression.
I think I have everything else in line. I know I need to make a blockoff
plate for the crankcase ventelation on the ABA and I will have to have me
header cut and sleaved 15mm longer. Anything else I'm not thinking of?
E-mail me if you can help.
Thanks!
Alan
