ebay scam

So you are saying that the seller (or anyone else presumably) has no
obligation whatsoever to clarify what their product does/is? That may hold
up just fine in court if you word it correctly, but I won't count among my
friends anyone who would be that dishonest -- sorry, not dishonest, just not
honest (If you diferentiate between the two, let me know so I can avoid
trusting you).

"marketing" does not make misleading people OK. I know that our screwed up
world tries to make it that way, and that it happens all the time, but that
doesn't make it right. What I don't get is why Steffan would be this
misleading just for a few lousy bucks on a cam. More than a few listers
have commented that this is dishonest, and he has basically gauranteed he
won't ever sell anything to them. Regardless of how others react to it,
isn't there some moral backbone in the man that should make him prefer to be
honest? Maybe ignoring the existence of God has something to do with it
all, but that's outside the scope of this, I guess.

The ad does imply lightly that your engine will have increased performance
when you install this cam. Maybe he keeps it light enough that he couldn't
be sued or something, but again, that doesn't make it right.

As for Hitman's response that, "i'm just saying that if you read the text of
his auction, and knowing/dealt with steffan before, his intentions are not
to rip anyone off.", what other intention could there be for citing higher
horsepower than our cars make and throwing the term "Euro" around? What is
it that you know about Steffan that the rest of us can't see? I'm not
saying he's not a perfectly nice, reasonable guy, just that he is doing one
particular dishonest thing. I'm not being sarcastic, here, I just don't see
how you could put that ad's text together with any other motive than hoping
someone bids more because they think it is what it isn't.

The ad description should be "16v ehaust cam to fit scirocco, GTI, etc..."
Citing hp and "euro" can't have any other purpose but to mislead.
