[tech]: where does this ground go?

i noticed a broken ground wire on the back of the intake manifold (16v)a 
while back; wondering (though unlikely) if this is contributing to my 
erratic idle.  it's a braided, flat copper ground, maybe 1 cm wide x 15 cm 
long. looks like it attaches near the coil or firewall somewhere.  could 
someone clue me in? thanks,
