Quick Question
1) you have a crankshaft bearing missing on cylinder #3...DAMN! was it in
the pan ? where the bolts snapped off?
1a) if this is what I think it is, your going to need some serious engine
rebuilding to be redone.
2) the oil baffle can be bought at a great many places, check
www.germanautoparts.com or www.parts4vws.com, autotech.com sell an upgrade
baffle to this that sits between engine and pan... I personally broke mine a
while back and have not had it replaced. then again I don't turn corners
like a maniac so no effect has been felt on turns.
3) you should be able to pull it off the pump.
4) VW ETKA Part # for 16v Baffle = SCI-88-1-15-1310 PL engine 16v =

Subject: Quick Question
i pulled the pan off my frozen 16v and discovered that a barring was missing
from cylender #3. since a barring is missing, i believe the exaust valves
are bent on that cylender as well. explanes why my car runs and sounds like
a lawn mower and why i get that God aweful tapping sound.
on to my question; i wanted to pull that piece of plastic off that helps
keep that oil in place in hard turns, but i broke a little peice when i was
messing with it. how do i get this damn thing off? also, is there a place
that i can get a new one? does this thing even have a part number? i dont
have a jack that works so im pretty much at stock hight (good thing i didnt
put those Neuspeed springs on yet =0) lol!)
what should my next move be?
