RE: Need your votes
VR6
Corrado is generally considered higher performance and more reliable, but it
will probably break your budget unless you find a good deal. A G60 can be found
in good shape for under 6k. Though I don't know, I'm told that you should just
PLAN on getting the supercharger rebuilt unless you are 100% sure of the
history. They're good reliable engines, generally, but the supercharger can
become a giant grenade if the PO hasn't maintained it properly. If it goes, it
takes out your whole engine (shredded metal into the intake). You can modify
them fairly easily for 200+hp.
If you
can find a good one, $6k will get you a sweet Mk1 and leave over half your
budget for some great upgrades, like suspension and a 2.0L 16v swap. If you
really want a "toy", it's the only way to go.

16v (still very much MINE!)
My wife is stealing my Rocco, my prize 88 with 80k miles on it.
She says she
wants it and I can go find another. This "other" will be an
all out toy. So,
MK1, MK2-16v, or Corrado.
I don't want to spend more
than about $6,000 initially. And in the Corrado
Dept. which is better, the
G604 or the V6?
