Dear Frank:
I don't find that removing the thermostat is the best way to go about this.
Buy a new one for $5-8, and install it. If the problem persists, move on to
simple things like one of your temp. relays. In addition, being summer, I
highly recommend an oil change with filter of course, using 20W-50.
BTW, after changing your therm., I think there is a way to release any
unwanted air pockets from the coolant system, hopefully you know how, or
maybe someone will post. Okay guys, I know someone knows how. I think
you're supposed to remove the upper radiator hose and fill the system up
from there.
Good luck,
Paul Hanley
