Here is a cool trick that works for most any alternator. Take an
unmagnetized object like a screwdriver ( had to be attracted to magnet )
Now. with the car running place the screwdriver on the BACK of the
alternator.
If the alt IS charging the screwdriver WILL be attracted to the it ( the
alternator ) If not the alt is most likely dead. THIS WORKS !!!!!

I think its the (+) wire that you disconnect to check if the alt is
working. If you diconnect the ground, the car WILL stall even if
you got a gold alternator!! If you diconnect the ground, it will
take the computer for a hike down Beverly Hills!

PS this message is only the fruit of my brain thinking. I may be
wrong. But I got a degree in electronics and I know my base.
