The car won't stall and the worse that would happen is that
your alternator if in good shape would cause a voltage spike to
go through your system, which rarely occurs. I to have the
degree in electronics and am currently a tech with Baxter
International. Almost all electronic IC's that were/are
manufactured after '80' are protected from such voltage spikes
even static discharges of over 32,000 volts, and most
electronic designs take this into consideration including your
autos comp. Either way though the negative cable removal
was only suggested to keep someone from doing a spot weld
job on there car but removal of the positive cable would avoid
the above voltage peak if it were to occur.
