2L 16v engine work ok with (base) CIS?

Thanks for the info.  I'll be able to cc a cylinder as well then...
The engine has less than 50K on it since it was bored/rebuilt, so I
don't think I'll need to tear into the head.  Hopefully the valve stem
seals haven't dried out, but they're not too big a deal to change out
I guess.  There's always Lucas Oil treatment - that stuff continues to
amaze me...

Anyone know if I can use the metal ABA head gasket (it's a 1.8 16v
block/head)?  I have two new ones still in the package.  IIRC I had an
option to use a 9A 16v head gasket on my JH/ABA combo, so that's what
made me wonder...
