2L 16v engine work ok with (base) CIS?
Presumably the 16V has a better combustion chamber and can have a higher CR without any more tendency to knock.
You are correct that the 16V and 8V knock boxes are different. The advance curves in the two boxes are different, with the 16V generally having less advance, again because it has a better combustion chamber that burns faster.
