here's a pic of the "stabilizer" chain on the 84 wolfie



I really don't know...I'm assuming since it was eye bolted to the bottom of both sides they were used by tightening the bolts on the eye bolts to pull the wheels in toward each other?  Maybe for adjusting alignment?  I don't know, but it sure was funny looking when I 1st bought the car I thought it was originally attached for some type tow, but then I realized the chain was tentioned.  American engineering on a German car. LOL
