OT 85 Golf problems starting

Look for either a bad connection at a plug, or bad insulation leading into
the plug. So inspect and clean all the ignition/start up type connections,
at the coil, at the cold start, and take a look under the black boot on the
Hall sender plug. They like to split there from rough handling and
vibration, and though the contacts are clean, the insulation on the other
side of the plug is toast. You sure you have the big black coil wire hooked
up on both ends, right?
