History repeats itself...?
Relationships on the list are based on trust; seems to me this matter
should still be between the buyer and seller. I've not seen the car, and
have no idea how fair the price is. That's between the buyer and seller
regardless, and it sounds like an agreement was reached. If I were selling,
I'd want the payment when the car departed my driveway. OTOH, obviously
there was some agreement for a different payment arrangement. It also
sounds like the car had some problems which perhaps both buyer AND seller
should have spotted, but didn't. Normal practice in an "as is" sale would
be to say tough shit, but on the list, that might fall by the wayside, and
it goes back to the two individuals involved to resolve it. Regardless,
payment in the agreed upon manner should still be happening. Hey, at least
if you buy from me, you can search the archives for every friggin' detail
of the car's history eh? But mine are not for sale :)
Tough call folks, go easily, and get it sorted out. Good luck.
