the tank
For what it is worth, the recall did span to 89 Cabriolet's. I had mine
replaced last year under this recall, but not sure if the build date had
something to do with that.
The process sure was not easy, though. The first dealership refused to
handle it as a recall, and I had to contact a dealership 70 miles away, and
the approval from VWoA had to go through a supervisor panel for approval
because the car was "inspected" previously for the tank issue.
