C-section (channel) is nothing more than a 'broken' flat plate.
Flat plate has little torsional strength.
Channel has little torsional strength, especially considering its weight.
Pound for pound, round stock is about 3 times stiffer in torsion than channel (generally speaking, of course). Tubing is even better.

I realize a flat section (even 'c') may not be as tortionally rigid as the shine bar, something must be considered - that bar is 1"
diameter, where the 'c' channel was 2.5" wide.
