need help identifying coolant fitting on 16V

Okay, sorry for the double post, but I had to go look to see what you were
talking about. Anyway, mine has an aliminum piece, with a big fat hose that
I'd say runs to the heater core (or so it seems, but not the heater core
hose with the valve in it) , and the upfacing nipple goes to a roughly U
shaped rubber hose of smaller diameter, that hooks  onto at nipple on the
top of the "water pipe", that multiopening metal hose from hell that wraps
around the engine, corrodes to lace and is a joy to replace.....there's
some Scirocco poetry right there...

That's what mine has. Who knows if it's hooked up properly, it's as the
dealer put it together years ago.

So there you have something at least.
