Check the alignment of the engine/trans mounts and look for broken exhaust
hangers.

Can I wedge something between the pipe and the bar that won't melt and will
provide some cushion?

any other good fixes for this? The engine mounts are fine. The exhaust is 2
in TT downpipe and the front anti sway bar is stock for an 87 8v.
