Re: Fuel lines

I am due to move to Oh at the end of June (after Jill's school year).

Using donor fuel lines I want to build jigs to bend the fuel lines for both the MKI and MKII. One piece units would need to drop the rear axel assemb and lift it high enough to get the fuel line in.

So I make a 2 piece set up for bothe the supply and return lines. Soild steel line front to back.

Any way it'll be a while till I can make them, but once the jig is made they should be fairly inexpencive to make. Maybe Kirsten can supply the steel line?

I spoke to David about these as I would also like to replace all mine (MKII). The fuel lines are only available in long lengths - much more than one car needs so it is a lot to spend for one person....but for a group? I am in!

I would agree these would be VERY useful!! Of course I would be
interested in a MKII set though.

Actually the lines come up from the Pside and snake around the down pipe to
the DS. So tring to fit the pipe with the motor in would be difficult at
best. If the line was cut at the point where the line exited the engine bay
to travel under the car would be best.

Then the next section from there to the Accumulator would be the next part.
The car would still need to be lifted quite a bit, but it could work.

This stuff would be great for those restoring a MKI as the fuel lines are
now 25 years old.
