Your car doesn't have any studs for mounting the bracket for the rear of
the a-arm ??? MK I's and MK II's are the same as far as how the a-arms
mount. Big-assed longitudinal bolt at the front of each arm, two 8mm
vertical studs to secure a bracket that holds the rear a-arm bushing up
against the underside of the car.
The Autotech subframe picks up exactly these four mounting points. If your
car doesn't have the studs that would be the first thing to address. Or
maybe I'm not understanding and all you have to do is remove the brackets
at the rear of the a-arm and put the Autotech subframe in their place?? If
that's the case, then make sure you don't bust the studs ;^)

Subject: Front swaybar install on a mk1
The autotech sway bar and subframe I have mount to the where the "stock"
mounting point would be on a mk2 on the undercarriage. How is this
accomplished on a mk1? Particularly w/ respect to the studs that are
"supposed" to be on the undercarriage.
As an aside - in my 3+ years on the list, I can't remember this question
being asked... :-| What's worse is that I've never installed a set on a
mk1 (and I've had 8!! They've always either already had them or not...)
Thanks! JT
