tranny component Q's

It's a guide/bushing for the pushrod...

They do wear out over time, and the extra slop, causes leakage on the clutch
pushrod seal, and can cause premature failure of the seal.

I usually tap a screwdriver into it, and twist it out.

What is the little brass gear-looking thing that the clutch pushrod goes
through? How important is it to change this piece and how the hell do you
get it out? Thanks for any input :)
