Fuel economy and improving it, among other things.
The pumps usually have "(R + M)/2" as the formula to determine octane.

Which is why I posted what I did. Mine is stock, but I can feel the
difference, as well as see the mileage difference...

That's why I said in my original post 93 was overkill for a stock 8v. I
can't comment on 16v's since all my cars are 8v's

I still say it's meant for 87 octane gas. Hell a jh is 8.5:1 cr. I think
93
is overkill for the engine and wallet.

ron which i think is the euro octane rating system and 87 clc which is
what
we use in north america. so i think 87 is what it's designed for. I'm no
