engine Q's 2.0 guts in 1.8 block?

I have a good set of 2.o 16v internals and a 1.8 block
which could be bored. What sort of clearence issues
will I encounter. 

I have heard that the intermediate shaft may need to
be turned to a smaller diameter to clear the rods...
dunno if it's true.

Just trying to be cheap.
