Where were Sciroccos sold?

Ben,

They were sold in the South East.  I fell in love with them in the
early 80's (82-84) when I lived in Florida. I bought my first (an 82)
from VW South on the south side of Charlotte in 87 and test drove
several 16v's that they had on the lot.  I lived in Charlotte from
84-98 and saw many over the years.

I see them for sale on ebay from Florida regularly. You shouldn't have
too hard of a time getting one when you get back.  My suggestion would
be to save while your there and get one of the cars that Dan Snow's
dad has brought to Cincy or a future project we have yet to see. 
Although my daughter says the convertible is spoken for.
