engine shield & streamlining

None of our cars are even close to being in the danger zone for
liftoff. Flat streamlining panels under the car supposedly add ~0.5
MPG to a car like my C230, dimpled panels supposedly add just a bit
more then that.

Setting up such a system on a rocco is likely to be more trouble then
it is worth IMHO.

Subject: engine shield & streamlining

anyone ever constructed an under engine shield for their scirocco?
i figure it'd help the early crowd with the alternators on the bottom
but i've never seen one out there.
also, what about making the bottom of the car smooth? covering this
and that to make even less resistance under there. would it work or
would our cars end up like the ?mercedes? le mans cars a few years ago
and want to lift off? again, just posing ideas.
