>Man California is getting tough about engine swaps now in older cars...
Tell me about it!! Sheesh, if it passes the sniffer, BFD!!
>G'luck , but I think in your case a 2L is so inconspicuous compared to a
>"turbo" setup.
Thats what I was thinking/hoping. If it passes a visual, I can take it
anywhere and they will smog it, however, if there are obvious modifications
to the engine or exhaust (turbo, #30 injectors...), the county ref has to
test it. What a bitch...
>Carbing in Texas is not "part of inspection process" yet, meaning Texas has
>no rules about gasoline Injection rulings yet on engine mods. (grin) so
>putting twin carbs (with the gain of 10-30hp (think Webber 45 DCOE Twin
>Carbs, on a specs 8v intake..) and tons of torque.
CARB means California Air Research Board. They are the ones that say yes or
no to a turbo modification.
>The 2L is good honest to god, FUN!, Sure a turbo will do 400HP.... But I
>bet
I was really just looking to run about the same power as a g60, only without
the g-crapper.
