I'd say he came to his senses, it would be idiotic to sell a Scirocco
like that for a grand.

I know some of you saw that ad on the Vortex for the $1k '81 S that had
all the goodies.

I was the first one to respond and basically said I'd buy it. Even
offered the guy a deposit.

Just so happened that Mark Hausler was flying down to LA where the owner
lived.  Get pix from the guy and OMG it looked good. Grey in almost the
shade I was looking for, engine combo I was going to do (for now
anyway), non-A/C, no sunroof, euro bumps.

I was even able to convince the wife it was a smart buy!

Mark checked it out on Sunday and all was good. Emailed him Monday
morning and he replys back:  "well, give me a day to make sure this is
what I really want to do...blah, blah, blah"

Then I saw the guy post on the Vortex looking for an uncracked mk1 dash.
I emailed him saying WTF (in much nicer words tho...)

Now he says "oh I'm going to sell it to my brother..." whatever...b*tch

I guess the guy's got the right to retract the sale, but I'm just
pissed. Got all psyched up for nothing...b*tch...

Now I just have to make my mk1  1000 times better than his POS (too bad
it'll cost me $4k more), but at least it'll be done MY WAY (cue
Sinatra)...b*tch...

I've been debating flaming him on Vortex, but he said there's still a
small possibility that his brother is not 100% in...b*tch...

Grrr...........
