it was just a huge media story, most people can`t understand here
why ...

Actually it happened here in my hometown Karlsruhe.

And most of my friends and co-workers are angy about
that the driver has go to jail now and about the  judgement that is out of all proportion.

Here in Germany we have a law "im Zweifel f?r den Angeklagten" which means
if there are doubts if the accused is really guilty he can`t be sentenced.
And we all have doubts here.

I have seen the tire tracks of the Kia with my own eyes, and they were going
almost in right angle directly from the left lane into the woods.

Something strange must have happened with the Kia,
probably a major mistake of the female driver.

There were no paint residues or similar things from the Mercedes found on the Kia.
So the Mercedes hasn`t touched the other car.
The Kia driver made the deadly mistake , was driving slowly on the left lane
( that is reserved for overtaking here in Germany ! ), and was reacting totally wrong,
 and therefore has at least a partial responsibility of what happened.

To make my standpoint (and alot of other people here ) clear :

We don`t accept tailgating or agressive behaviour on the Autobahn.
These people have to be punished by law.
BUT :
here the law over-reacted, most probably due to the pressure of media.
Because a girl and her child died, and it was in boring summer with no other headlines in the papers
a big story was made out of it...
