The fella that did write-ups for VWVortex did an article on this...  HID set-
up, although he said that they are no longer available...  :-(  However, 
allegedly 'Cullen' on Vortex can get you a set of HIDs for the Mk1...  I, and 
I see that some others have had difficulty in contacting him, so bear that in 
mind...

Beyond that, I have had experience with Wagners' Brite Light.  It is a higher 
wattage Halogen, and I have had very good results, although I definately would 
not mind other options, esp. if they were as cheap as the Wagners...  ;-)
