The Zamboni used by the Hartford Whalers hockey team decades ago was
powered by VWs.  One of the major sponsors was the local VW/Porsche
dealer. The dealership's name, along with the sign that said 'Powered by
VW', was on the side of the Zamboni.  I believe that it was an air
cooled VW at the time.  The dealer and the Whalers are long gone.  The
Whalers moved to the Carolinians and the dealer had a little problem
with the IRS.
