My ex taught me that a few years ago in his 16v Scirocco.
It especially works great for eliminating the 1st to 2nd
"crunch" we all have.
How can I do this you say? Ok, when ready to shift from
first:
-depress the clutch pedal.
-shift from 1st to neutral.
-release the clutch pedal.
-depress the clutch pedal again.
-shift to 2nd.
-release the clutch pedal.
I generally use this on colder mornings, the '86 having an
especially bad 2nd gear synchro.
