If the car is a JH, it's not from an 85 GTI, if it's the RD we think
it might be you'll need to either detune it a bit or graft a knock
sensor system

into the ignition, it's not hard I can send you a schematic (and of
course there are a few well done web pages out there with
instructions. [minus one now]). Damn, where are those delete
characters? ;])
Get back to us with more details, as well as how much of the motor you
are thinking of getting; long block, short, any accessories? Any bits
and pieces?

Just a heads up, that could save a lot of aggravation...
When I wired in a knock box on my Pickup, I followed one of those web sites,
and could not get a spark.
After looking at the A2 Bentley, I figured out that the one wire, should not
go to the coil-ignition, it goes to the starter solenoid wire.
Sounds odd I know, but it started right up...
When I picked up my 3A Rabbit GTI, I noticed that it was wired the same as
my Pickup. I asked Dwayne about it, and he went through the same exact thing
as me, he also used the online schematic, that can't possibly work.
