MK3 tranny 020 are they stronger??

Well, based on the 02A in my A3 Jetta TDI, I'd say give me rods and
levers over cables any day.  The 02A does a great job of isolating you
from the shifting process - it's quite smooth, but its also dead and
completely without feeling or feedback.  I think the persons responsible
for its design were spending too much time driving Honda Accords... :)
