Automatic Trans for 16v

This is pretty OT, but I remember a few years ago coming across a
scirocco owner (lister?) that had tragically lost both his legs. I
remember seeing pictures of the setup he had rigged up to allow him to
continue to drive his scirocco, using a motorcycle grip attached to the
throttle cable, and a special push-bar for the brake.

Anybody know who this fellow was? Or have copies of the pictures in
question..? I'd like to look at them again.
