Automatic Trans for 16v

I've not seen one.  I did hear about a white 16v running
around the Chicago area years ago that supposedly had an
auto, but nothing confirmed.

I guess you could swap one in from one of the 8v Sciroccos
or Cabriolets.  I guess my question would be: "Why?"  :)
