16V 2.0 Pickup lives, sort of... Need help ASAP..

Jim,
This assumes that the kent gears have the key in the same location as the
original ones relative to the lobes

the quick way to check, well there is no quick way.
remove the Intake manifold
remove sparkplugs (makes it easy to turn)

move the motor to TDC as marked by the DOT on the flywheel.
and line up the tick on the 16v cam gear with the arrow on the valve cover

remove valve cover.
look at the cam gears.
there should be a dot and a dash lined up when looking from the drivers
side. The dot and dash may vary, but they should both be on the same side
of the gears facing the passenger side.

here is a picture of ours as installed (realize that these are regrinds,
and an exhaust cam that is converted to an intake and reground)

there could be issues with getting the wrong gear on the wrong cam
getting the gear flipped on either.

oh and both valves should be completely closed on the #1 clyn. the overlap
comes on another portion of the stroke.

take a picture or many.

Brian
