It's definetly not the 1.6L. The original motor was built by TT for the
original owenr wehn the car was first built in 85 or 86. From then until 99
it was raced here in Ohio and around the mid-west as an IT car. The last
owner blew that motor up ans says the 1.6L was replaced with a 85 or 86 10-1
1.8L GTI motor and Trans. The code from the Trans seems to jive with that.
When I got under the car to get a better look at things is when I noticed
that it had a Tri-Y header in place. That's fine with me. One less thing to
buy! Either way I'm still happy wth the car, the mods alone on the car are
worth 750.00. All your guy's help is much appreciated.
Cheers,
Erik
