speedo squawking

Hi,
In the past I have tried to resolve a squawking speedo. When its cold it squawks very loudly. I had tried a different cable, to no avail. The noise would go away if I moved the cable while driving.
Recently I had to change the oxs counter when it died. As an amazing side benefit the sqauwking has dissapeared!! 
I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but this may solve the problem!
