I purple power'd the outside surfaces with a stiff brush, didn't let
it dry, just hosed it, sprayed, scrubbed, hosed, spray scrub- like
that.

The super strong chlorinated brake cleaner is even better at melting
grease and crud, but it evaporates so fast so use it in a well
ventilated area and work one spot at a time.
