what impact could loose 16v center valve cover bolts cause?
You pretty much need the kit. The tap is special since it is the same pitch
but a bigger diameter. Plus there is the insertion tool. I think I've gotten
away without it on occasion, but it's lots more difficult. If the hole is
stripped then you don't need the drill since it's only slightly larger than
the screw major diameter. The tap is the expensive part though.
I'm thinking you'll need to drill out both the valve cover to clear the 8mm
bolt and the head to tap it to 8mm.
Unfortuneately, I'm on the east coast, so a little far from you, but see if
you can borrow the helicoil set from someone.
